Computer certifications are a great way for a person who does not want to spend the extra time & money to get a college degree but wants to
gain education & a resume builder. Certifications show that you know this specific subject well instead of just general knowledge. This may be a good for you if you
want to learn more but do not want to go back to spend 4 years in college.

Microsoft the software leader has a hole series of certifications that are in high
demand. There is a good chance to get a job with these certifications. Right. Weather it be Microsoft ™ Windows Systems Engineer, Microsoft ™ Windows Networking
Professional or Microsoft ™ Windows Professional Engineer. Almost every organization that has a computer will have a Microsoft ™ product so there will be demand for
Microsoft support for some time to come.

Other Certifications are Cisco & Oracle certifications. There is more. They are the biggest providers of Network & Database
solutions. There is more. There is a high demand for these postions & are very high paying. With no sign of the internet slowing down these will positions have a good
future.

How will you study for your certification exam? Everybody learns different but you can use flash cards & attempt to memorize what content that the test
will have. For most repetition of the material will be the very best way to ensure that you can pass the exam. Most exams have books written for the purpose of passing the
exam. There’re also places that offer practice test. Many you’ll have to pay for, but they allow you to see how you’ll stack up against the real
test.

Another option it so enroll into CBT or WBT. These are computer or web based training. Do you follow? These are good because all of your training can be done from

Cisco Certification - How a Cisco Router Boots

Cisco Router Boot Sequence

Here we’re going to discuss from a high level of how a Cisco Router boots
after you flip the power switch to on which will assist you in your CCNA studies. For the most part, the initial boot process is controlled by the BootROM which
permanently stores the startup diagnostic code(ROM Monitor). The main task of the BootROM is to run the Power On Self Test(POST), which are the hardware
diagnostics, & to load the Cisco IOS software from the Flash(in most cases) to memory. Note that the Boot ROM isn’t erasable.

1.
The BootROM will initialize the hardware & run through the POST to make certain there’re no hardware errors & the CPU & interfaces are all fully
functioning. If there is some sort of error, you’ll see it in the POST as the router begins to boot

2. Next the BootROM locates &
loads a valid Cisco IOS image. Below you’ll find the process that the router will go through to load the IOS image:

The router first checks the Flash for a
valid IOS.

If there is none found in Flash & it has a separate Boot-Helper image, it can load the IOS via a TFTP server(netboot)

Finally, as a last resort it will
load the RxBoot mini-IOS that is found in ROM.

3. The router then checks the Configuration Register value (NVRAM) to see
where to load the router configuration file from. By default this is stored on an EPROM named startup-config which doesn’t lose its contents when the router is
powered off. If a valid startup-config file can not actually be found, the router will load the System Configuration Dialog, which basically drops you into Setup mode. Then you
will be easily able to perform the initial configuration of the router via a menu. Finally, there’re various configuration-register options you can set to change the default
behavior which will be covered in another article.

When it comes to choosing the right MCSE training in order to attain your certification you really need to first look at what MCSE experience you have.
As you’ll soon discover each Microsoft ™ certification is tied in to the kind of experience & skill sets that a person has. Some of the certificates are designed for
those with very little experience whilst others are designed for all those who have been working in this specific field for some time.

Generally for all those who are
just starting out in their career as an MCSE the best thing they can do is start out getting an entry level position in a company�s IT Department. In fact in *some* cases

Cisco CCNA 640-802 And CCENT Certification Exam Training - Frame Relay BECN, FECN, & DE

Frame Relay is a major topic on both your CCENT & CCNA 640-802 exams, & it is a major topic in today’s production networks as well!
Today, we will take a look at three different Frame Relay values that help to indicate network congestion as well as decide what frames to drop due to that congestion -
FECN, BECN, & DE.

Frame Relay uses two different values to indicate that the WAN is becoming congested:

FECN - Forward Explicit Congestion
Notification

BECN - Backward Explicit Congestion Notification

As I am sure you can guess by the names, the main difference between the two is the
direction! But what direction? Glad you asked!

Let’s assume Router A is sending frames to Router B. If that switch encounters transmission delays due to
network congestion, the switch will set the FECN bit on the frames heading for Router B, since that is the direction in which the frames are traveling. Do you follow? The BECN bit will
be set on frames being sent back to Router A.

When a frame arrives at a router with the FECN bit set, that means congestion was encountered in the
direction in which the frame was traveling.

When a frame arrives at a router with the BECN bit set, congestion was encountered in the opposite direction in
which the frame was traveling.

The Discard Eligible bit is considered a Frame Relay congestion notification bit, but the purpose is a bit different from the
BECN & FECN. Frames are occasionally dropped as a result of congestion, & frames with the DE bit set will be dropped before frames without that bit set.
Basically, setting the DE bit on a frame shows data that is considered less important than data without the DE bit set.

The FECN, BECN, & DE values
can be seen via show frame pvc.

CCNP Certification / BSCI Exam:

Cisco OSPF design
guidelines state that a router should be in no more than how many areas?

Answer: Cisco OSPF design guidelines suggest a router have interfaces in no more
than three areas.

CCNP Certification / BCMSN Exam:

Identify the true statements regarding RED.

A. Congestion is detected early.

B.
Congestion is detected only when the queue is actually filled to capacity.

C. CoS & IP Prec values can be often used to identify the data that should be dropped
first.

D. CoS can be often used to identify the data that should be dropped first, but not IP Prec.

E. IP Prec can be often used to identify the data that should be
dropped first, but not CoS.

F. Neither CoS nor IP Prec can be often used by RED.

Answers: A, F. RED does detect congestion early - after all, RED stands
for Random Early Detection - but the key word there is “random”. Neither CoS nor IP Precedence is considered by RED, as the traffic that is dropped is indeed
random.

CCNP Certification / ISCW Exam:

What term does MPLS give to a router that has all of its interfaces in the MPLS network, & that
performs label switching?

Answer: That’s a Label Switch Router (LSR).

CCNP Certification / ONT Exam:

Cisco routers support three payload
compression algorithms. Name them.

Answer: Stacker, Predictor, & Microsoft ™ Point-To-Point Compression.
