What are the requirements to get into a good psychology PhD program?

Will they consider classes from the freshman and sophomore year if I was originally a different, unrelated major (and my grades were baaaaad).. What kind of GRE scores will i need? How important is undergraduate research? What is the lowest my GPA could be and still get me into a respectable program? PhD only, I’m really not interested in going the PsyD or Masters route.

I am really interested in UNC Chapel Hill’s Developmental program, possibly North Carolina State.

I would start talking to the schools about the past academic issues. The chances of anyone here being able to give you a meaningfull answer regarding a specific program is small. Pick up the phone or start emailing the schools for the information.

You should check out the information they post on their websites and contact the department chairman to see what they are looking for. That is the best way to start.

    UNC http://www.unc.edu/

    NCSU http://www.ncsu.edu/

    Good Luck!!!
