It depends on the type of ‘degree’ that you are looking to get in creative writing. If you want to go for an MFA (Master in Fine Arts), with emphasis on creative writing, then there are many universities that have low-residency requirements, meaning a short period of face-to-face instruction is required (usually between 10 days to a month). I am not sure where you are located, but a quick search for MFA by distance will bring you to many that do offer the programme….there are a few just in Vermont alone(Goddard, Union Institute) for example…not to mention other areas of the US. Also there are very good programmes in the UK that are by distance. Here is just one link as an example:

Good luck in your search. I am sure you will find many colleges or universities to choose from….just make sure it is properly accredited and not a dimploma mill type organization.

    Try the following four:

    Ashford University
Ellis College of New York Institute of Technology
    Regent University
Vermont College of Union Institute & University

Also, you will probably want to check out

    especially with regard to accreditation.
