No. You CANNOT get your GED online, for free or for any amount of money. The GED must be taken in person at a testing center. There are many websites offering to let you take the GED online, but there are all scams – the real GED cannot be taken online. The ‘GED’ offered by those sites is not accepted by colleges or employers, and often costs much more than the real GED, which can cost less than $10 depending on your state. Google the GED in your state to find out when and where it’s offered, how you can sign up, how much it will cost, and if there’s any chance of getting a fee waiver.

Yeah you have to go a testing center to get your GED, the one I went to was flexible with peoples working (or whatever time you are busy) hours for you to go in and be tutored or you can learn on your own there’s multiple sites where you can take practice tests or go to a bookstore in your area and purchase a GED book that will cover what you will need to know on the test.
Depending on your area is how the test will be administered I took all five test in one day and it took me about 6 hours to complete them, with breaks inbetween the tests of course. But more places I know give them out individually and you complete them as you go along.
EDIT: I advise you to look up fees for the GED because my state (which is Maine) offers it for free statewide. So check into it you might be surprised.
I wish you much of luck on your GED whenever you take it. =)
