If you are going to try an online university only it will be expensive. If you are in the US, I would look at the community colleges and universities in your state and look online at their schedule of classes. Most universities and community colleges offer online courses. What state are you in? I’ll try to help you further.

Here is a link to online accredited universities
    http://www.elearners.com/colleges/colleges.asp

    EDIT:
here is a list of all of the community colleges in California
    http://www.cccco.edu/CommunityColleges/CommunityCollegeListings/CollegeListingsAlphabetical/tabid/643/Default.aspx

    EDIT:
Here is an example of what I mean. The Alameda Community College online courses are listed here:
    http://alameda.peralta.edu/apps/pubs.asp?Q=1&T=Online+Courses&P=20015
You will see that many of these courses are general education requirements.

Even if you don’t find every course that you want, you can transfer to another community college that has the remainder of the courses. Usually to get your degree, you will have to meet a residency requirement which means that you may have to take at least 15 credits or so in that college in order to graduate from it. You will have to check the school’s catalog.

You should stay away from purely online colleges, as they are so much more expensive.

Hope it helps and good luck!

    Many CC’s offer that eg
    http://www.ccconline.org/about/

Simply contact a local one and take it from there. And once you get your associates tons of 4 year schools around to transfer to. And some even allow you to do 90 credits at a CC then transfer eg:
    http://www.transfertoregis.org/index.html

That can save you even more money.

    Thanks

You’re better off taking online or correspondence courses from local or other universities. That is, find a decent offling university that offers online classes or correspondence courses. You get the same GOOD, solid credit for those courses, and you don’t have to worry about wasting your money on a sketchy online school.

Charter Oak State College is an accredited all-online school that’s part of Connecticut’s state university system. They offer all kinds of gen-ed type courses to be taken online and can be transferred to the school you attend.

Search for the course you’re looking for here:
    http://www.charteroak.edu/courses

They are one of three entirely online state college in the US.
